JUNKO IKEUCHI, 76 - September 26, 2010
Japanese actress Junko Ikeuchi, who was leading lady for the Starman/Super Giant science fiction films from Japan in the mid-1960s, died of lung cancer in a Tokyo hospital on September 26, 2010. She was born Sumiko Nakazawa in Tokyo on November 4, 1933. She began her film career with Shintoho Pictures Co. in the mid-1950s, debuting in 1955's "The Crown Prince's Bride". She was best known as Ken Utsui's leading lady in the Super Giant/Starman series of short science fiction films in the late 1950s, which were later spliced together and dubbed by Walter Manley Enterprises for television release in the United States as "Attack from Space" (1965), "Atomic Rulers of the World" (1965), "Invaders from Space" (1965), and "Evil Brain from Outer Space" (1965).


GREENING Jack

Jack Greening, 88, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Jack was born April 7, 1922 in London, England to John and Florence (Watts) Greening. Jack was a World War II veteran serving as a Commando in the British Royal Marines. Jack married Betty Reeves in London in 1949. After the war, they left for Toronto, Canada where he became an actor working in live television and theatre. After working in Canada he moved his wife and daughter to Los Angeles where he continued his television and film work. He was in the movies; My Fair Lady, with Audrey Hepburn, Unsinkable Molly Brown, with Debbie Reynolds and he was also in Around the World in a Daze with the Three Stooges . Jack later joined The Goodyear Tire Rubber Company in Los Angeles, where he started the career that lead him to training sales managers in Akron, Ohio. Jack left Goodyear to start his own business, Productive Communications. He also taught at a community college and published a book called, "Selling Without Confrontation." He enjoyed writing short articles believing that there was not enough humor in literature. Jack loved to read and was passionate about writing. Jack will be remembered for enjoying the time spent with his family and attending his grandson's plays. Along with his wife of 61 years, Betty, Jack is survived by his children, Alison (Mike) Devolder of Perrysburg and son, Paul Greening of Canton, Ohio; grandson, Max Devolder and sister-in-law, Pam Reeves. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Dennis Greening and Rita Stearn. A private memorial service will be held in Jack's memory.
