On and On...

JIM CAPALDI-Jan. 28-(60)-was the drummer for The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inducted TRAFFIC with Steve Winwood, Chris Wood & Dave Mason. He played on all 11 of their albums until the group's demise in 1974. He also wrote most of the lyrics for theri most popular songs. He later was a solo act and released a number albums, some with his own group THE CONTENDERS. He and Winwood re-united in 1993 as Traffic for a tour that included an appearance at WOODSTOCK. He died of cancer.

ERIC CROSS-Died March 10th 2004-(101)-was a cinematographer who shot early HAMMER FILMS like THE MYSTERY OF MARY CELESTE (with Bela Lugosi).

ERWIN HILLIER-Jan. 10-(93)-was also an English cinematographer (born in Berlin) who worked on many films and was a cameraman on Fritz Lang's M and MurNau's TABU. His films include THE DAM BUSTERS, SHAKE HANDS WITH THE DEVIL, THE QUILLER MEMORANDUM, EYE OF THE DEVIL, THE SHOES OF A FISHERMAN and VALLEY OF THE GWANGI.

JOHN VERNON-Feb. 2-(72)-Canadian born actor best known to American audiences as Dean Wormer in ANIMAL HOUSE (he also played the same role on ABC's DELTA HOUSE. He was also the star of the popular CBC detective series WOJECK. Among his many film roles:THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES, HERBIE GOES BANANAS, AIRPLANE 2, THE BLUE AND THE GREY, CURTAINS, CHAINED HEAT,SAVAGE STREETS,ERNEST GOES TO CAMP, KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE,I'M GONNA GIT YOU SUCKA, FAMILY OF COPS. In addition he did much voice over work including The Sub Mariner in the cheapo '60's cartoon series.His real name was Aldolphus Agopsowicz. The cause of his death was not disclosed.

MERLE KILGORE-Feb.6-(70)-was singer, songwriter, producer and actor who co-wrote the often covered RING OF FIRE. He also acted in some movies including COAL MINERS'S DAUGHTER, NASHVILLE and NEVADA SMITH.

DAN O'HERILHY-Feb. 18-(85)-was a Oscar nominated actor who worked in films for over 50 years. He was the title character in Luis Bunuel's THE ADVENTURES OF ROBINSON CRUSOE and played villians in HALLOWEEN 3:THE SEASON OF THE WITCH and ROBOCOP and it's sequel. Other film appearances include FAIL SAFE, THE CABINET OF CALAGARI, 100 RIFLES, THE LONG HOT SUMMER, THE PEOPLE, MACARTHUR, THE LAST STARFIGHTER, THE DEAD and his last THE RAT PACK (as Joe Kennedy). Originally from Ireland, O'Herilhy also appeared in many TV programs (including a reoccuring one on TWIN PEAKS) and a number of commercials.

BRIAN KELLY-Feb. 18-(73)-was Porter Ricks on the 1960's TV FLIPPER (Chuck Connors had played the role in the movie). He was also in AROUND THE WORLD UNDER THE SEA, THE COMPANY OF KILLERS and DRIVE HARD DRIVE FAST. Injuries from a motorcycle accident sidelined his carreer for a time. He was the executive producer of Ridley Scott's BLANDERUNNER. He died of pneumonia.
